The fine print
Terms of service
The rules for using Shiny Object Society, in plain language. If something here is unclear, email us.
The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Shiny Object Society, a Spellwick Studios business(“we”, “us”). By using this site or buying a product, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Your account
You sign in with a link sent to your email, so keep your email account secure. Your account is for you alone. Please don’t share your access with anyone else.
Purchases and access
Prices are in US dollars and are one-time payments unless the product page says otherwise. Checkout and payment are handled by Shopify.
When you buy a course, you get ongoing access to it for as long as we offer it. If we ever stop offering a course, we’ll give customers at least 30 days’ notice.
Refunds
Every purchase comes with a 7-day refund. The details are in our refund policy.
What you can do with the course
The lessons, worksheets, tools and other materials are ours, and you get a personal license to use them. Please don’t resell, share, republish or distribute them, in whole or in part.
What you make is yours. Products, plans and anything else you create using the course belong to you, and you can sell them however you like.
No guaranteed results
We teach a method; we can’t promise outcomes. Results depend on your effort, your market, your circumstances, and plenty of things outside anyone’s control. Any examples of revenue or results are illustrations, not promises of what you’ll earn. Nothing on this site is legal, financial or tax advice. More detail in our earnings disclaimer.
Using the site fairly
Please don’t try to get around access controls, interfere with the site, scrape it, or use it for anything illegal. We may suspend accounts that do.
Disclaimers and liability
We work hard to keep the site running and the material accurate, but the site and products are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page, and we’ll email customers about significant changes. Changes don’t apply retroactively to purchases you’ve already made.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA. Before anything formal, please email hello@shinyobjectsociety.co. Most problems get solved that way.
Still unsure?
Email hello@shinyobjectsociety.co and a person will answer.
